2006 Congressional results for women..

These 2006 mid-term elections were golden for Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi, Senator-elect Claire McCaskill (MO) and others -- but not for women in general re equal representation in Congress where women picked up only four (4) seats net in the House so far, to gain one percentage point or up to 16.3% of all seats...Here are the results:

Taxation-without-representation states (some progress!)

Women did pick up two seats in the U.S. Senate -- for a total of 16 (16%).

Emily's List spends $44 million and bats .370 (10 0f 27) for the U.S. House in 2006, so far...

Emily's List reportedly raised $44 million, spending about 75% of that on get-out-the vote for Democrats and trainings, and the rest for women's campaigns -- but they did endorse more women in federal races than the 2004 cycle.
