2 OPEN SEATS in Vermont!

Today in Burlington, Vermont, Senator Jim Jeffords (I) announced that he will not run for re-election in 2006. Congressman-at-Large Bernie Sanders (I) most likely will run for US Senate. That will also open up a Congressional seat. What about former Governor and Ambassador to Switzerland Madeline Kunin for Senate? Or Cheryl Rivers -- who ran for Lt. Governor, has statewide recognition and was endorsed by Sanders -- for Congress? What other Vermont women could run for those seats? Let's get moving!

This is a golden opportunity for former Vermont Governor and current DNC Chair, who says he will not run for Senator, to show whether he really supports "Every OPEN SEAT A Woman's Seat!"

PS: If you live in Florida you know that Kathy Castor is running for an empty Congressional seat (FL-11), but do you know that Henry Hyde is retiring? Check the developing OPEN SEAT list at withoutboundaries.com.
